Constance, September 10, 2009 / b3c newswire / - The mayor Claus Boldt, together with architect Hans-Peter Engelmann and CEO Peter Pohl, officially turned the first sod, thus marking the beginning of the expansion the Constance site of GATC Biotech, Europe's leading sequencing service provider.
The company will invest more than 5 million euros in its Constance headquarters until 2012 to create offices and laboratories for an additional 100 employees.
An extra 960 square meters will more than double the existing laboratory and office space. The three-storey annex will be directly attached to the original building. A glass atrium will connect the old and the new buildings. The architect's office Giel & Engelmann in Constance is responsible for planning and construction supervision.

We are literally bursting at the seams as we have more than doubled the number of our employees since 2006. Furthermore, we urgently need further laboratory space in order to expand our sequencing capacity to 30 terabases until 2013. Konstanz, 10. September 2009 / b3c newswire / - Mit dem offiziellen Spatenstich durch Bürgermeister Claus Boldt, gemeinsam mit Architekt Hans-Peter Engelmann und Vorstand Peter Pohl, hat GATC Biotech, Europa’s führender Sequenzierdienstleister, mit dem Ausbau seines Standortes in Konstanz begonnen.
Bis 2012 werden über 5 Millionen Euro in den Hauptsitz Konstanz investiert, um Platz für bis zu 100 weitere Arbeitsplätze zu schaffen.
Mit zusätzlichen 960 Quadratmetern werden die bestehenden Labor- und Büroflächen verdoppelt. Der dreigeschossige Erweiterungsbau wird unmittelbar an das ursprüngliche Gebäude angefügt. Alt und Neu werden dabei durch einen komplett verglasten Eingangsbereich verbunden. Verantwortlich für Planung und Bauleitung ist das Architekturbüro Giel & Engelmann aus Konstanz.

Constance, 10 septembre 2009 / b3c newswire / – Le premier coup de pioche marquant le début des travaux d’agrandissement de la société GATC Biotech, l’un des principaux prestataires de services de séquençage en Europe, a été donné à Constance par le maire Claus Boldt, assisté de l’architecte Hans-Peter Engelmann et du président de la société Peter Pohl.
Plus de 5 millions d’euros vont être investis d’ici à 2012 dans le siège principal de Constance qui prévoit également de créer 100 nouveaux postes.
Avec 960 mètres carrés supplémentaires, les surfaces de laboratoires et de bureaux vont doubler. L’agrandissement, qui aura trois étages, sera accolé au bâtiment d’origine. L’ancien et le nouvel édifice seront reliés par un hall d’entrée entièrement vitré. La planification et la direction des travaux ont été confiées au cabinet d’architectes Giel & Engelmann de Constance.
